INTAVIS acquires peptide synthesis unit of the NMI Technologietransfer GmbH
The signatures of Dr. h. c. Peter Beck (CEO of the INTAVIS AG) and Prof. Dr. Hugo Hämmerle (CEO of the NMI Technologietransfer GmbH, NMI TT, Reutlingen, Germany) closed the merger of the NMI peptides, the peptide synthesis lab of NMI TT by INTAVIS AG. NMI TT is a subsidiary of the NMI Reutlingen, Germany. They commercially use the knowledge developed by the NMI. “NMI peptides perfectly complements and strengthens our currently available peptide services.” says Peter Beck, CEO of INTAVIS. “In this merger, we do see a step into the future and are planning a combined laboratory in the Tübingen area in medium term.” NMI peptides, the peptide synthesis lab of NMI TT, has more then 15 years of experience in producing soluble peptides and highly purified, modified peptides, such as phosphopeptides, conjugated peptide libraries, fluorescent peptides, lipopeptides and hydrophobic peptides for biochemical research. This complements the INTAVIS custom peptide products and allows customers of both companies to access the complete product portfolio from peptides for screening to tools for complex biochemical assays from one supplier. To maintain continuity and consistency for all customers, in short term, the laboratories of NMI peptides will stay at the NMI in Reutlingen. In addition, all employees were hired by INTAVIS. The merger is seen as a start of a continuing collaboration between the company and the NMI in future research and development projects.
