InsituPro Upgrade - Automated in situ Detection

How is the upgraded InsituPro controlled and programmed?
The InsituPro Upgrade is operated by a PC. Operation of the instrument and adaptation of protocols is performed by a Windows based software with an intuitive graphical interface. The graphical software is used for operating the system. After each run it creates a log file as a protocol of the run.

Are different software versions required for each hardware configuration?
No, the operation software is able to handle all configurations. When the program is started, the user can choose to work either with slides or with one of the three different basket work areas.

Can I create my own protocols?
Yes. We recommend to start with the predefined template protocols as most parameters have been set to their optimum in these protocols.

Can different users have their own protocols?
Every user is allowed to create their own protocols or to use protocols defined by other users. The software ensures, that no user can modify protocols defined by another user.

FAQ - Software InsituPro

How is the InsituPro controlled and programmed?
The InsituPro is operated from a small keypad controller with LCD display and floppy disk drive. Method programs are stored on the disk and run with a few keystrokes. The methods can be edited on the keypad or with the convenient Windows Editor on a standard PC. Alternatively, INTAVIS developed a software to directly operate the InsituPro from a PC.

Is the software Windows compatible?
The operation software can be edited using another piece of software, the INTAVIS WinEditor. The graphical display makes editing very easy and allows creation of complex procedures.

Is different software required for each hardware configuration?
Yes, a different disk must be used for each thermostated rack kit. Although the coordinates are compatible for all 30 column versions, the method files contain numerous entries with different volumes. Therefore it is much easier and safer to run each configuration from its own disk. Each thermostated rack kit is supplied with the corresponding disk.

Can I create my own protocols?
Yes. We recommend to start from one of our pre-defined methods and apply the changes you feel appropriate.

Can different users have their own protocols?
The instrument can be used by different users and this is something INTAVIS strongly recommends. Each user should have their protocols on their own disk and have  sole responsiblity for it. A central co-ordinator should be informed about all hardware changes and problems, which should also be recorded in an instrument log book. There must be someone responsible for cleaning and general maintenance.
